Best Mom in the World

Since Mother’s Day is just around the corner, I figured I’d better get a card ready to send my own mother. I knew that she would love this image from Power Poppy, but I wanted to incorporate her favorite color. As it turns out, there is such as thing as blue tulips so after looking at lots of images on Google, I decided upon the blue and violets flowers that you see here.

This color combination really pushed me out of my comfort zone. I still have trouble shading and blending any of the violet combinations so I usually avoid them. But once I picked out the blue combinations, I knew that putting the extra work into blending the violets would be worth it if the end result was an extra special card.

Because after all, I have the best mom in the world.
