June Instant Garden Introduction: Pure Prairie Bouquet

Rowhouse Greetings | Pure Prairie Bouquet by Power PoppyIt’s the 15th of the month so that means a new digital release from Power Poppy and this month Marcella has outdone herself. Earlier in the summer, Marcella spent time immersed in the study of prairie wildflowers, looking through the native plants of regions all over the country, including the Midwest, Great Lakes region, and the Northeast. Marcella first shared this image when it was still a work in progress and then again as a fully realized watercolor. This beautiful prairie bouquet features coreopsis, coneflowers, asters, prairie clover, bee balm, and Indian paintbrush. I loved it so much that I threatened (jokingly, of course) to go on strike if Marcella didn’t release it in digital format. Luckily, I didn’t have to do that!

As you can see, I flipped and rotated the and then cropped it to focus on a specific area of the digital stamp. That’s the beauty of working with digital images — it’s so easy to experiment with the image to make it your own.

For the inside of the card, I printed the full image as a watermark and overlaid it with one of my favorite sentiments from the Countryside Bouquet Digital Stamp.

  1. Stunning card, Nancy! I love the depth of color you’ve achieved…absolutely gorgeous. Great idea to flip the image, too…shows the versatility of the digis. Awesome job, my friend!

  2. Oh, Nancy, this is gorgeous! I love your colors and the richness and depth you’ve achieved! Yes, this is one of my favorites and one I know I will be using more as I crop it. I love your elegant and simple layout with the enamel dots and love how you’ve printed the inside as well. Beautifully done, sweet friend! Hugs!
