Holiday Gift Tags

HEY FRIENDS! Today I’ve switched gears to make some holiday tags for gift packages. I recently purchased a new to me Penny Black stamp set called Jolly Follies — I have a soft spot for all of the Penny Black critter images — so I paired it with a few Avery Elle stamps from my stash as well as a large layer tag die also from Avery Elle. As always, I’ve linked supplies with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

COPICS: R17, R27, R39 (ribbon); R27 (berries); YG03, YG17, YG67 (holly leaves); Y21, Y26, Y28, E23 (bells); B000, B00, B01 (dress); R20, E30, E31, E33, E35, E37 (mouse)

For each tag, I used the largest tag die in the Easy Layer Tag Die set to cut the background from Hammermill smooth cardstock. The images from the Jolly Follies stamp set were stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I used sentiments from the Merry Circle Tags stamp set which I stamped using Versafine Claire in Nocturne. I used the “To” and “From” stamps from the Jingle stamp set. I added clear Wink of Stella to embellish the snow on the lamp in Tag 1 and the bells in Tag 3.

Since the Copic ink bleeds through the paper, I cut another tag from Neenah cardstock to glue to the back. For the third tag, I also stamped all the sentiments on the back since they were not used on the front.

That’s all for today!

Santa Bunny (again!) by Colorado Craft Company

HEY FRIENDS! In case you hadn’t guessed, the Santa Bunny stamp set by Colorado Craft Company is one of the my favorite images. I don’t usually color an image more than once, but I’ve used this one to make cards (1 and 2), a tag and even did a Copic coloring video featuring the image. So for something a little different, I pulled out my colored pencils and colored it one more time. As always, I’ve linked supplies with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

FEATURED PRODUCTS

The Santa Bunny image was stamped on Stonehenge Drawing Paper using Versafine Clair in Nocturne. I used the multi-colored Stonehenge paper pad, selecting one of the grey tone sheets. This is actually my favorite paper and tone to use for colored pencils. I used Prismacolor Premier Pencils to color the image and applied Gamsol with a blending stump to blend the colors.

To finish, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Anita Jeram Hanging Stockings Mini stamp set using Versafine Clair in Nocturne. I trimmed the panel using one of the dies from Blanket Stitched Rectangles die set. I cut panels from Red Hot and Field Day Card Stock from My Favorite Things. I assembled the layers as shown.

That’s all for today! See you again soon!

Golden Dance by Penny Black

HEY FRIENDS! I took a break from making holiday cards to color up a stamp set by Penny Black called Golden Dance. I’ve had my eye on this stamp for awhile because I love its simplicity. So I decided it was a sign when I found both the stamp AND its coordinating die while I was out shopping at Shady Lane Impressions in Pennsylvania. This is a fabulous family owned craft store located in Honeybrook, Pennsylvania. They really have a little bit of everything in stock so it was quite a shopping experience! I stamped the image on Hammermill cardstock using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored the image with Copic markers (see list below). Once the image was colored, I used the coordinating die to cut out the image.

I created an A2 top folding cardbase from Neenah Classic Crest cardstock and added a layer of design paper. I cut a piece of white cardstock using the second largest die in the Stitches of Love Rectangle die set and stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner using Versafine Clair ink in Nocturne. I applied foam adhesive squares to the back of the colored image and assembled the layers as shown.

That’s all for today!

Knitting Bear by Colorado Craft Company

HEY FRIENDS! Today I’m sharing another card featuring featuring stamps from the new Kris Lauren Christmas Bears release. This time I’m combining images from the Knitting Bear and Stocking Mini stamp sets to create a cozy fireside scene.  As always, I’ve linked supplies with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

And just a reminder that Colorado Craft Company is offering free domestic shipping (see 3C website for international orders) on November 7th and 8th.

To start, I stamped the fireplace from the Knitting Bear stamp set on a piece of Hammermill cardstock with Hero Arts Intense Black ink. After coloring the image with Copic markers, I stamped the sentiment from the Stocking Mini stamp set above the fireplace using Versafine Claire in Nocturne. I trimmed the panel using the Chunky A2 Scalloped Rectangles Dies from Simon Says Stamp, applied foam tape to the back, and set the panel aside.

On a scrap of Hammermill cardstock, I stamped the stocking from the Stocking Mini stamp set and colored the images with Copic markers. I cut out the images using the coordinating Stocking Mini Dies. I applied foam squares on the back (I had to cut them to fit) and adhered them in place on the front of the fireplace.

I used the Infinity Rectangle dies from Hero Arts to cut the background layers and assembled the layers as shown.

*** UPDATED – 11/9/2022 ***

I just finished a new video showing how I colored the fireplace. Enjoy!

That’s all for today! See you again soon!
