Warm Cup

I loved this design paper from Doodlebugs so I decided to pair it with another House Mouse Designs oldie but goodie – the Warm Cup stamp. This one really is quick and easy to color. Paired with a sentiment from Paper Smooches and you have a fun card to share with a friend.

Prosecco Time

Noor Design is the Sponsor of the Week over at the Passionate Paper Creation and Friends Facebook group so I just wanted to show off the card that I put together using embellishments from the Crafteezee Collection. The image is one of the new releases from All Dressed Up called Prosecco Time. One of the three stamps in the set is shown here.

I’ve been experimenting with skin tones and I’ve started using some of the BV shades as an undertone for the E skin tones. I first saw this on Sandy Alnock’s blog. I’m still working on my technique, but I think that the BV undertone provides a more realistic shade for skin rather than the straight E combinations that are usually used.

Time for a Coffee Break

I’m over on the LDRS Creative Inspiration blog today with a recent project featuring one of stamps that debuted last month at Creativation. This image is from All Dressed Up called Time for a Coffee Break will be available soon in the LDRS store.  These images are perfect for a clean and simple (CAS) layout. I added a burst of color with a bright red die cut using one of my go to die sets:  Basic Cutting Edge Borders I by Creative Basics.

Hope you found some crafty inspiration in my project!

Happy Birthday and Many More

Rowhouse Greetings | Birthday | Zoo CrewI’ve colored a lot of cards recently (emphasis on A LOT) with my Copic markers so it was fun to make a card composed entirely of stamped images and die cuts. This stamp set from Paper Smooches called Zoo Crew caught my eye and the zebra is just adorable.

I decided that I wanted to use a black and white print for the card, but not a zebra print. So I used one of the Back To Basics papers from Kaisercraft. One side is a black and white stripe while the other is black and white polka dot. The paper, along with a loopy leaf die cut and sentiments from the Paper Smooches Birthday Sampler stamp set, matched the whimsy of the zebra.

Blossoming Feline

I’ve been eyeing the new Laurel Bush stamps by Stampendous and I finally broke down today and bought some. The style and the colors are out of the norm for me, but that’s exactly why I wanted to color them. Although I have to admit that having a household of cats was certainly a determining influence as well!

Laurel Burch’s style is very distinctive as is her color palette. Stampendous has developed a Copic Marker Coloring Guide for this line of stamps which I used for guidance, but substituted when I needed an expanded selection to create some of the blending. Since it was my first, I followed an illustration of the original to practice her style, but it is truely an image where anything goes!
