Va-Va Valentines by Power Poppy

Va Va Valentine by Power PoppyTime for another new digital release from Power Poppy and this one is so much fun. A veritable buffet of love notes suitable for Valentines, anniversary cards, thinking of you notes, or any time you want to let someone special know that you are thinking of them. ! This pack of goodness features six complete drawings: “Pretty Great”, “Rocking Blooms”, “Biggest Fan”, “Springy Step”, “Matching Socks”, “Found You” and “Heart Melt”. Each image will fit comfortably on a card front, and they are so much fun to color! Four simple sentiments for the inside. For a limited time, you can get all six images for $6 so head on over and get yours today!

When I saw all the new images, I couldn’t decide which one to do first, but finally settled on the Biggest Fan. I did my usually Copic coloring, but wanted to push it a little further. At Christmas, my husband gave me a full set of Prismacolor pencils so I’ve been experimenting with adding depth and detail to my Copic coloring with colored pencils. Here I added some shading to the blades of the fan and hearts. I’m looking forward to experimenting further with the technique to see how far I can go.

Take a look at what the rest of the team put together for you and be sure to stop by the Power Poppy blog.

Rosé All Day by Power Poppy

Rowhouse Greetings | Rose All Day by Power PoppyMarcella has big plans for the Power Poppy Instant Garden and the news is exciting! Each month’s digital download will have a theme – a color story – featuring images that include groupings of plants, insects, birds, and various little “props” for a scene to challenge the colorist.

The theme for January is “Rosé All Day” — a new digital image featuring flowers that are naturally reds, pinks, and whites such as Roses, Redbud branches, and Cyclamen hederifolium. Marcella has added in a few paint brushes and a colored pencil, along with a ladybug and bumblebees.  Think of it as a way to expand your skills and push your coloring boundaries.

Here, I’m pushing my own coloring boundaries by trying some no line coloring. Still a work in progress and not quite ready for prime time, but who knows? With a little more practice ….

In the meantime, stop on over at the Power Poppy blog and take a look at what the other Instant Gardeners have in store for you. We’re celebrating the release of this image with Kathy Racoosin at The Daily Marker to help kick off the 30 Day Coloring Challenge!

New Digital Release – Gingerbread Family by Power Poppy

Welcome back to Rowhouse Greetings! I’m back today with a holiday card featuring the new digital release from Power Poppy called Gingerbread Family. This digital stamp set has plenty of options for creating tags – note that it includes both the front AND back of the gingerbread boy and girl – but I decided that I wanted to use the gingerbread house as the focal point of my card. While shopping local at Photo Scraps, I found a fabulous design paper from Pebbles that was the perfect complement to this image. I loved the whimsical design full of baking utensils and tiny gingerbread cookies. After coloring the image, I added some clear Wink of Stella to the snow along the roof line for a hint of glitter and shine.

I didn’t want those gingerbread cookie images to go to waste, so I added them to the inside of the card along with the sentiment included in the stamp set.

Check out the gingerbread tags made by fellow Instant Gardener Elizabeth Zaffarano. And be sure to stop by the Power Poppy blog for additional crafty inspiration!

Hops and Barley by Power Poppy

Welcome back to Rowhouse Greetings! Today I’m back with a new project featuring the new digital release from Power Poppy called Hops and Barley. Everywhere you turn these days, there seems to be an upstart craft brewery opening its doors, or a new “IPA” or “Seasonal Ale” to sample at the local pub. In the spirit of this beloved spirit, Marcella designed a botanical stamp set that celebrates two of the essential used in the brewing of beer: Hops and Barley. A few “hoppy” sentiments and a wise saying from Benjamin Franklin round out this set, a must-have for beer aficionados.

In lieu of the “hoppy” sentiments, I used one of sentiments from the recent Autumn’s Opulence digital stamp set. Be sure to stop by the Power Poppy blog for more inspiration and be sure to stop by and see what the Instant Gardeners have put together for you.
