July Demo Day – Featuring MFT Stamps

I’m over at PhotoScraps today participating in Demo Day. I’ve got two cards featuring stamps from My Favorite Things that are simple to color (I swear!) with Copic markers. I stamps the images in different colors of Memento Ink so that the outlines of the leaves and flowers blended with the coloring – sort of like no line coloring with lines!

If you’re in the area, stop on by!

Especially Micey!

I’m over on the Passionate Paper Creations blog today with a card using one of the adorable critters from Penny Black stamp set Especially Micey teamed with Creative Basics dies.

I stamped the image on a piece of Copic X-Press It Blending Card that I cut using the second largest die in the Basic Stitched Flag Die Set. I colored the image with Copic markers using the colors listed below. Afterwards I used the remaining die sets to cut shapes from various design papers which I layered on my card base using thin foam squares. I love how cleanly these dies cut the paper and the stitching adds texture and interest. Hope this project gives you some crafty inspiration!

See you over at the Passionate Paper Creations & Friends Facebook Group!

Photo Scraps June Demo Day!

Come join me at Photo Scraps this Saturday for their monthly Demo Day. There’s always a variety of cards and layouts for you to create. I’ve got two cards this month both featuring older Penny Black stamps sets from the 2014 Happy Everything release that have been hiding in my stash waiting for the perfect opportunity to be highlighted in a card. Both stamps are larger Slapstick/Cling stamps and because of their size, they do not easily fit on an A2 sized card. However I saw a card on the Penny Black blog by Judy Jung of Runs With Scissors which emboldened me to the unthinkable – I took a big pair of kitchen shears and cut the stamp in half (gasp)! But the result was two stamps that readily fit in the allotted space.

For my first card, I pretty much CASEd Judy’s card as my inspiration, substituting Nuvo Drops for the enamel dots shown on the original card. I used sentiments from the Sprinkles and Smiles stamp set by Penny Black.

For the second card, I arched the two segments of the stamp which gave me the perfect focal point for a larger sentiment. I used a sentiment from the Happy Thoughts stamp set by Penny Black.

I’ll be with the Photo Scraps gang from 11AM until 4PM – be sure you stop by and join in on the fun! Don’t forget to bring your tape runner and scissors!

Luminous Bouquet

I’m still playing catch up with all the new digital releases from Power Poppy this week. This is the last one that I needed to color (yes – needed!). Just look at all those beautiful flowers and leaves! To be honest, this image was a little overwhelming when I looked at it the first time because, well — LOOK AT ALL THOSE FLOWERS AND LEAVES! But I just took it one flower at a time, making one color decision at a time. I matched the colored image with a rainbow plaid from Lawn Fawn and a scalloped die from Tonic and by the end it all came together.

Felt with the Heart

Everytime I go to a scrapbook store, I come home with more paper. Beautiful florals, petite polka dots, plaids — you name it and it’s probably in my stash. Some of it is so pretty that I almost hate to cut it. But the advantage of accumulating so much paper is that you have more opportunities for mixing and matching colors and patterns across different companies. Here I managed to match paper from Lawn Fawn, Echo Park Paper Company, and Core’dination and while I’m sad to use up some familiar papers, I now have room to spare for some new favorites.
