I loved this design paper from Doodlebugs so I decided to pair it with another House Mouse Designs oldie but goodie – the Warm Cup stamp. This one really is quick and easy to color. Paired with a sentiment from Paper Smooches and you have a fun card to share with a friend.

Around here, June is a month full of celebrations — several birthdays, an anniversary, and Father’s Day — so I’ve been busy making cards. A couple of weeks ago, I posted a sneak peak of the image for my husband’s birthday card. With his birthday rapidly approaching, it’s time to put a card together for him.
To some, this image would probably make more sense for a July birthday. However, my husband is an NPS park ranger and he spends his days teaching the public about the history of the American flag. So this seemed like an appropriate birthday image for him despite the strong July 4th connotation.

I have the honor of being one of the guest designers for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge #18: Lavendar & Lace. This particular theme was a challenge for me since my style tends to be clean and simple. I needed to find my inner froufrou without creating a fussy and overdone card.
I recently purchased several Spellbinder dies, so I knew that I wanted to use them to convey the concept of lace without actually using any. The Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles die has multiple layers so I used the largest dies in the set and opted for a simpler die for the main image. I was stuck on which die to use until I saw a recent card by Kathy Jones of the Power Poppy Bloom Brigade which used the Spellbinders Labels Four die for the main image.
So here’s what I put together for the design team card. Details for my card are at the end of this post.
So here we go for our next challenge, the theme has been chosen this time by Lesley and is
* Lavender & Lace *
Don’t forget you do have the option of anything goes + if you do use the theme you will get 2 chances in the prize draw. We also take email entries, facebook entries and if you fancy joining us on the team for a month please put GD after your name in the linky.
