WELCOME BACK! I have something a little different today to show you. As many of you know, I love using stencils for my cards. Often, I incorporate them into the background of my card, but in this project they are front and center! I’ve been eyeing the various layering stencil sets from Pinkfresh Studio so I recently splurged on several sets, including the Floral Print Circle and Argyle stencils featured today. And while I’m a big fan of Tim Holtz’s Distress Inks, I pulled out my Catherine Pooler Ink pads for something a little different.
Today’s project features:

Step by Step for Floral Circle
- For the card base, cut a piece of Neenah Classic Crest 110# cardstock to 4.25″ x 11″ and score at 5.5″ for a top fold card.
- Cut a piece of lavender cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ (I used Grapesicle Card Stock by MFT Stamps).
- Die cut lavender cardstock using the Stitches Die by Pinkfresh Studio. Trim piece to 3.5″ x 4.5″
- Cut a piece of yellow cardstock to .25″ x 5.5″ (I used Lemon Drop Card Stock by MFT Stamps).
- Cut two pieces of white cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and stencil designs as indicated below. NOTE: The Floral Print Circle and Argyle Stencils are both multi-part layered. To use, line up your cardstock with the guidelines on the stencil and ink blend the design. The stencils are numbered to indicate the order. I used the Catherine Pooler Designs ink listed below.
- Trim floral print stenciled paper with a circle die (I used the largest in the Standard Circles Large set by Spellbinders). Apply craft foam or foam squares to back for dimension.
- Trim the argyle stenciled paper to 1-5/8″ x 5.5″
- Stamp sentiment on a scrap of white cardstock and trim to fit. I used a sentiment from the Celebrate Today stamp set by Pinkfresh Studio stamped with Versafine Claire ink in Nocturne. Apply craft foam or foam squares to back for dimension.
- Assemble card elements as shown.

You could easily substitute Distress Ink for the Catherine Pooler inks in this project. I just liked the CP inks here because they are vibrant and the ink pads are really juicy, making them easy to blend.
