HEY FRIENDS! I’m back today with TWO cards featuring Christmas layering stencils from Pinkfresh Studio — Holiday Botanical Background and Thrill of Hope Wreath. They’re perfect for creating multiple holiday cards assembly line style and you can alternate the color palette for different looks. There’s a lot to show you today so let’s get started. As always, I’ve linked supplies with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

A NOTE ABOUT MY WORK SURFACE: I like to work on a surface that is easy to wipe clean and as well as magnetic to hold the stencils in place. I have a white glass craft mat from Glassboard Studio on my work table, which is a bit of an investment depending on the size, but is perfect for my crafting use. The magnetic glass mat from Simon Says Stamp is a bit more economical and works just as well. In either case, you will need rare earth magnets to hold your cardstock in place. I use the pawn shaped magnets found on Amazon.com since they are easy to pick up and move on the magnetic surface. As an alternative, the Wendy Vecchi Make Art Staytion works just as well.

HOLIDAY BOTANICAL BACKGROUND
Size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches
Featured Products:
- Holiday Botanical Background Stencil by Pinkfresh Studio [ SBC | SBP | SSS ]
- Joy and Cheer Die by Memory Box [ SSS ]
- Distress Oxide Inks (see list below).
- Additional supplies listed below.
To start, I cut a piece of Hammermill Smooth Cardstock cut to 4.25″ x 5.5″, applied repositionable tape on the back, and stuck it to my work surface. As noted above, I work on a magnetic glass mat and hold the stencils in place with magnets. Since this is a set of layering stencils, the corners of each stencil has guides to line up the designs.
I used blender brushes to apply Distress Oxide inks to each layer of the Holiday Botanical Background Stencil as listed below:
- Stencil 1: Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers
- Stencil 2: Pine Needles
- Stencil 3: Rustic Wilderness
- Stencil 4: Kitsch Flamingo, Candied Apple
For the sentiment, I die cut the Joy and Cheer die twice from Neenah Classic Crest 110# cardstock and glued the two layers together. I ink blended Distress Ink in Kitsch Flamingo and Candied Apple. Afterwards, I decided that the sentiment needed a little more punch so I applied Versafine Ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder. Once it cooled, I glued the sentiment in place.
I trimmed 1/8″ off of each side of the stenciled layer and applied foam tape to the back. I cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp cardstock in Fog Gray to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and glued it to an A2 cardbase made from Neenah Classic Crest 110# cardstock. I assembled the layers as shown. For some added bling, I applied a few Oceans of Green gems from Picket Fence.

- Additional supplies listed below.
As with the first card, I cut a piece of Hammermill Smooth Cardstock cut to 4.25″ x 5.5″, applied repositionable tape on the back, and stuck it to my work surface. I used blender brushes to apply Distress Oxide inks to each layer of the Thrill of Hope Layering Stencils as follows:
Stencil 1: Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers
Stencil 2: Uncharted Mariner
Stencil 3: Kitsch Flamingo, Candied Apple
Stencil 4: Pine Needles
Stencil 5: Rustic Wilderness
Once the stenciling was complete, I trimmed the stenciled panel with the largest die in the Diagonal Stitched Rectangles Die Set and added foam tape to the back.
For the sentiment, I used the Thrill of Hope Foil Plate with Glimmer Foil with Moondust foil. If you do not have the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, you could use the Thrill of Hope Stamp Set as an alternative. I die cut the sentiment using the coordinating dies and cut two additional layers out of white cardstock. I glued all of the layers together to create a sentiment with dimension.
To finish, I assembled the layers as shown. For some extra bling, I added silver metallic pearls

That’s all for me today! See you again soon!
