A Little Bit Scenic – French 50s Cafe

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers and the Spectrum Noir AquaBlend Pencils available from Crafter’s Companion. Both are easy to work with and the colors are gorgeous. I’m really a newbie at anything involving a brush, but I felt like a pro using these markers and pencils.

I stamped my image on Ranger Watercolor paper using Stazon ink by Tsukineko. I used the smoother side of the watercolor paper for best results. Rather than coloring the image directly with the AquaBlend pencils, I laid down layers of color by swiping a water brush along the tip of my AquaBlend pencils to pick up the color. I used the Aqua Markers in the areas where I wanted more control, applying ink by coloring directly on the watercolor paper and blending it out with a water brush.

I think the results are pretty spectacular for a first attempt! I hope you think so too!
