GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! I was a lucky duck because I was able to get the new Lucky Duck stamp set by My Favorite Things in time to post a project for today’s new release! OK – the ducks are certainly cute, but OMG that frog! So I snatched up the set and got to coloring!
Today’s project features:
- Lucky Duck by My Favorite Things
- Sending You Hugs Die-namics by My Favorite Things
- Ink blending
- Copic coloring (of course!)

STEP BY STEP FOR LUCKY DUCK
- Cut card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# cardstock to 4.25″ x 11″ and score at 5.5″ for a top fold card.
- Trim a piece of Summer Splash cardstock to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. Adhere to front of card base and set aside.
- Trim a piece of Copic friendly paper to 4″ x 5-1/4″ (I used Hammermill Premium Color Copy Cover 100# Cardstock)
- Position Sending You Hugs Die-namics on lower half of cardstock and run through die machine. Save cut out letters.
- Stamp images with a Copic friendly ink above the die cut (I used Nuvo Hybrid Ink in Shadow Black).
- Color images with Copic markers (see marker list below).
- Cut a scrap piece of white cardstock to 3″ x 4″
- Using a blending tool (I used Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes), apply Distress Oxide ink in Peacock Feathers across the top of the scrap cardstock. Apply Distress Oxide ink in Mustard Seed along the bottom. Deepen the edge with Distress Oxide ink in Spiced Marmalade. I left a bit of white between the two colors (see image below).
- Apply Versafine Clare ink in Nocturne to the Brush Splatter Background stamp (MFT) and stamp the ink blending cardstock. Allow the ink to dry thoroughly.
- Position Sending You Hugs Die-namics on the ink blended cardstock and run through die machine. Save cut out letters.
- Inset the original white die cut letters back into place on the image cardstock. Flip paper and apply tape across the letters to hold them in place.
- Glue ink blended letters on top of the white die cut letters. Use a strong glue that dried clear. (I used Wendy Vecchi Perfect Card Adhesive). All letters to dry thoroughly.
- Glue card front to card base with a strong adhesive. (I used Beacon’s 3 in 1 Adhesive).
