Ho Ho Ho: Joy to the World

I’m usually pretty good with coloring — laying out the image, selecting colors, etc. — but often get hung up on card design. And I finding it boring to make duplicate cards so I rarely make the same card twice. This is a real problem with Christmas cards. Even though I still have plenty of time, I don’t to get hung up trying to make every card unique. So I’m developing a couple of really simple layouts where I can simply swap out the main image and the papers and have lots of different cards. It also gives me an opportunity to use up paper in my stash rather than purchasing supplies specifically for this project.

So this is the first of what I’m calling the Ho Ho Ho series. It features an image from the Joy to the World series by Penny Black and a sentiment from Grand Holiday Greetings by My Favorite Things. The inside (not shown) features the same papers with a sentiment from Yuletide by Kaisercraft.

These cards are meant for mailing so they are sized at A2 and I’m keeping embellishments to a minimum. There’s enough mail flying around at Christmas without adding cards that need to be hand stamped at the Post Office.
