Just BeClaws by My Favorite Things

Had another fun Saturday at Photo Scraps for Demo Day. I was surprised (and pleased) to see so many turn out for the day’s event, especially since the weather was so bad. But a good time was had by all and I actually ran out of card kits for the first card featured below.  The crab was a big hit. After all, this is Maryland!

You’re probably tired of hearing me say this, but these cards really are quick and easy to put together. I relied on die cuts and a stencil to create the backgrounds and added a couple of images from the Just BeClaws stamp set by My Favorite Things.

As I write this on Monday night, it’s still pouring rain – over 4 inches of rain in the past 24 hours, flash flood warnings, and more rain to come – so a couple of sunshine themed cards are hopefully predictors of sunny days ahead.

Below are the supplies I’ve used for today’s project. All items were personally purchased except those marked with an asterisk (*) . I never share a product I do not like. Read more.

  1. Hi I Love these 2 cards I think they’re just so sunny and bright and can be used for many situations. What I would like to ask though is, when you mention a product you’ve used, why don’t you link up to where it’s available with just one click? (You’re probably thinking ‘look for yourself lol) well if i was able to copy and paste fromyour site, then i would, however its not, so as i have a very bad short term memory i can not remember the name of tge whole item lol. Sounds daft i know but its a blooming nightmare for me lok. Xxx keep makingyour beautiful cards. Xxx

    1. Hey Andrea! I’ve thought about linking to the products used in the cards, but many of my blog posts (like this one) highlight cards that are part of classes at the two stores where I teach. So it just doesn’t feel right in those posts to add links so that people can buy the same products at other stores. I realize that many of the people reading these posts are not local to me, but I hope that if someone sees something they like, they would inquire at their local craft store to help keep sales local. We are losing so many of the small paper craft stores each year to big online stores and they are a resource that will be sorely missed if we just let them slip away. So at least for now, I’m funding this blog out of my own pocket and bucking the trend for affiliate links with the hopes that my readers will buy local.
