Enchanted Garden by Power Poppy – Day 2

WELCOME TO DAY 2 OF THE POWER POPPY ENCHANTED GARDEN RELEASE! Today we’re previewing the new Woodland Carpet clear stamp set. Flora, fauna, fungi and other treasures of the forest floor are celebrated in this unique new 4″ x 8″ clear stamp set. Five images and five sentiments provide cardmakers opportunities to make both masculine and feminine cards. The vignettes are large enough to be a generous focal image. Available Monday, July 1st!

Drumroll please!

So here is my first creation! I stamped the image on to white cardstock and then colored it with Copic markers (colors shown below). I thought I was taking a little artistic license with the red mushroom caps only to find that it’s an actual type of toadstool. I underpainted part of the cap with C5 to deepened the color and colored over it with R46 and R24.

After coloring the remainder of the image, I inked the sentiment with Versamark and covered it with copper embossing powder from Ranger.

And then I was on a roll so I created a much simpler card with minimal coloring. I used one of the smaller images in the set and stamped it and the sentiment on watercolor paper with Versafine ink. I stamped the image one more time with a Copic safe ink and colored it. I fussy cut the image (i.e. Scan and Cut) and popped it up with foam squares for dimension. Here’s the end result.

  1. Love the first card! You colored your mushrooms to look like my favorite mushroom, the Fly Agaric 🙂 In my neck of the woods we start seeing them cover the forest floor in Aug., they are a sign that fall is almost here.

I love the simplicity of the second card and how you popped up and colored the middle image to draw the eye in, beautiful!

  2. Both of these are just gorgeous Nancy! The colouring of the little forest scene is so sweet and inviting. And I just love the composition of the second design. It’s so clean and pretty. You made a tiny flower arrangement feel full with the background stamping.

  3. Oh what fun! I absolutely adore both of your creations! The first is a beautiful display while the second shows just that pop of beauty with simple color. So fun to see just how differently you can create with this set!

  4. Gorgeous Nancy, both cards are so gorgeous. By the first one I love the hint of blue you used on different parts of the image it makes the whole image come alive. I love how you made your second card, clean and simple but gorgeous.
Thank you so much for sharing.

  5. Oh I just like the way you embossed the sentiment with this image especially in the copper. Looks wonderful, not to mention fabulous coloring all around on the image!!! Beautiful Nancy.
