GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! I’m back today with a new project featuring the Created to Create Digital Stamp from Power Poppy. It’s wintry outside, but I’m ready to color spring flowers and this image fit the bill.
I couldn’t wait to color those daffodils and they set the color palette for the rest of the image. Clearly my excitement was in marked contrast to my late night coloring partner, who dozed off while I was picking out markers.
Although it was tempting to use pure yellow tones for the daffodils, I decided to select shades from the YG color family. I wanted to be able to transition smoothly from the leaves and base of the flowers to the petals and so I used moved from YG03 to YG00. I added a little Y02 to brighten the petals overall as well as R22 to provide a little more contrast.
Disclosure: Below are the supplies I’ve used for today’s project. All items were personally purchased except those marked with an asterisk (*) which were provided by a store or design team. I never share a product I do not like. All opinions are my own. Read more.
