Everything Stops for Walkies

I’m over on the LDRS Inspiration Blog today with another project featuring the stamp Everything Stops for Walkies by All Dressed Up.

My cards lately have been really pared down in terms of a papers and embellishments. Then I saw this card by Faye Wynn-Jones and loved its simplicity. I knew that I had to try it for myself. The All Dressed Up stamps are perfect because for a CAS card because they really can stand alone as a simple, but elegant statement for a card front. Add a couple of sequins (pink of course) and make a fashion statement!

Below are the supplies I’ve used for today’s project. Items marked with an asterisk (*) were provided by a store or the manufacturer for free or at a discount. All other items were personally purchased. Read more.

Prosecco Time

Noor Design is the Sponsor of the Week over at the Passionate Paper Creation and Friends Facebook group so I just wanted to show off the card that I put together using embellishments from the Crafteezee Collection. The image is one of the new releases from All Dressed Up called Prosecco Time. One of the three stamps in the set is shown here.

I’ve been experimenting with skin tones and I’ve started using some of the BV shades as an undertone for the E skin tones. I first saw this on Sandy Alnock’s blog. I’m still working on my technique, but I think that the BV undertone provides a more realistic shade for skin rather than the straight E combinations that are usually used.

Time to Sparkle

I’m over on the LDRS Creative Inspiration blog today to share a project featuring one of the newly released All Dressed Up stamps called Time to Sparkle as well as the Basic Background Builders I die set from Creative Basics used to cut the gold and blue foil papers for the decorative scalloped edge.

In keeping with its name, I decided that I wanted to make the dress really sparkle and stand out. First, I colored the image with Copic markers on X-Press Blending Card (by Copic). I used Y23, Y15, Y17, Y19 to achieve the gold tone of the dress. But it’s hard to get much depth with the Copic yellows, so I first mapped out the valleys of each fold using BV01. Then I just did some straight blending from dark to light (Y19, Y17, Y15, Y23) to complete each fold.

Once the dress was complete, I added sparkle with layers of dots created with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen and a gold Uniball gel pen. I concentrated the dots in the valleys and then randomly distributed them across the rest of the fold.

Love the Weekend

I’m over on the LDRS Inspiration blog today with this fun and flirty stamp by All Dressed Up. I stamped the image on X-Press It Blending Card and colored the image using Copic markers. I cut the image layer using the Fancy Rectangles & Layers die set which is one of my favorite Creative Basics dies. I paired the image with coordinating papers from Lawn Fawn.

I have to admit that it was a nice change of pace from making Christmas cards!
