Floral Notes by Pinkfresh Studio

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! I’m back today with a card featuring several products from Pinkfresh Studio, including the Floral Notes stencil and coordinating die. This stencil is actually intended for a slimline card, but you’ll see that with a little crafty surgery, I was able to create an A2 card instead. As always, I’ve linked the supplies below with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

This card had lots of moving parts, but never fear! I’ve provided detailed directions and illustrations below to guide you each step of the way.

Step by Step

Cutting the Image

Since I wanted to create an A2 card, I had to cut the stenciled image to fit. See images below to see how I divided the image to fit my design.

Note on Perfect Sentiments Stamp

This stamp is actually 11 different sentiments as one stamp – in other words, you’ll stamp all the sentiments at the same time on a single sheet of cardstock. The coordinating die then creates the separate sentiments. This is a case where buying both the stamp and the die is more efficient for card production. In lieu of the die, you could probably either fussy cut or use a Cricut or Scan ‘n’ Cut to separate the sentiments although I didn’t try either method since I already had the die.

Notes on Tools

  • For inkblending and stenciling, I used the Blender Brushes from Taylored Expressions. I prefer this set of blender brushes simply for the color coded handles so that I have a specific brush for each color family.
  • I used Mint Low Tack and Repositionable Tape from Scrapbook.com to hold the stencils in place.
  • I used Foam Sticky Strips from Taylored Expressions to adhere the sentiments and the stenciled flowers in place.

Just Because by PinkFresh Studio

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE! Just a quick post today. This morning I took my husband to get a pedicure and took several incriminating photos to show his pals! He enjoyed it, but is too cool to admit it! 🙂 At any rate, I’m getting a late start posting to the blog today. However, I did some late night coloring and wanted to show you my latest card featuring the stamp set Just Because by PinkFresh Studio. I’m a big fan of PinkFresh Studio and I’ve been buying up a lot of their stamps and stencil sets. This particular stamp set was one that I picked up at The Ink Pad during our trip to New York City several weeks ago. As always, I’ve linked most of the supplies below with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

Today’s project features:

  • Just Because by PinkFresh Studio
  • Copic coloring (see marker list below)
  • Additional supplies linked in thumbnails below.

I used a few different marker combinations for the flowers. The colors are close, but I didn’t want them to all look alike so I varied the markers to add more interest. I did the same with the leaves, creating two different combinations, but I think they were too close, so you can’t see as much variation. Live and learn!

Recently, I purged most of the patterned cardstock in my stash. I had so much of it and it just wasn’t getting used. I have a hard time mixing and matching patterns – it’s just not my forte. So I eliminated almost all of the single patterned sheets from my stash and kept my paper pads. Less confusing and easier to store. The Sizzix paper pad that I used here is a particular favorite. It has lots of elegant and subtle patterns in coordinating colors, making paper selection much easier.

Hope you enjoyed today’s project! See you soon!

Folk Garden by Pinkfresh Studio (and a road trip!)

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! Today, I have a new project featuring the Folk Garden stamp set by Pinkfresh Studio, but this card comes with a back story. A couple of weekends ago, we woke up early and decided that a road trip would be the perfect way to spend the day since things are starting to open up again. Last year, I was in contact with Anna, the owner of The Ink Pad located in the Chelsea section of New York City. She loved the Mary Engelbreit box that I had created and asked about using the photos to promote the stamps in her store. Of course, I said yes! I looked up the store and thought it would be a fun trip, but we were in the midst of the pandemic so traveling to New York was out of the question.

Scott remembered that we had discussed visiting a stamp store in New York. After consulting Google, we realized that the trip was roughly the same distance as going to the beach so we knew we were within day trip parameters. So we jumped into the car, stopped at Starbucks for fortification, and off we went!

They must have wondered what blew in the door! My husband started taking pictures immediately and I just wandered around in awe. The store is small, but it’s a crafter’s paradise. Anna is my new BFF and the rest of her staff are a delight! She was surprised, but happy that some random couple jumped into the car and drove three hours just to see (and shop!) at her store.

The walls are packed with a wide variety of wood mounted rubber stamps. Now, I love wood mounted stamps, but as you all know, I live in a shoebox with limited storage so I shifted my attention to their inventory of clear stamps. I’m seriously crushing on Pinkfresh Studio right now and Anna had several of the stamps I’ve been looking for. So you know those stamps were immediately snatched up!

Our trip was impulsive, but well worth the time. We’ll definitely be back to visit Anna and her crew!

So today’ project features some of the goodies that I bought at The Ink Pad:

  • Folk Garden by Pinkfresh Studio
  • Just Because by Pinkfresh Studio (sentiment)
  • Copic coloring (see marker list below)
  • Additional basic supplies linked in thumbnails below.
  • Supplies linked with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

I’m back to playing with my Copics. Actually, I was afraid that if I waited too long, I’d fall out of practice. I’ll admit that it took a few tries to get back in the groove with my markers. That green is a new to me combination (YG01, YG05, YG09) and I love the freshness of the combination. I think that one will stay in my marker combination rotation.

That’s all for me today! I’m off to lunch with my parents! See you again soon!
