Watercolor Geraniums

It’s been several months since the last post, but there has been lots of activity here at Rowhouse Greetings. We live in a nineteenth century Baltimore rowhouse and like any older home, it needs some periodic TLC. So now that the dust is settling, it’s time to get back to work with some new cards to celebrate the coming spring.

I usually work with Copic inks, but I love these watercolor style stamps from Penny Black. Geraniums are a particular favorite and we usually plant them in front of the house. Since the window is next to my workspace, it’s nice to look out and see such a cheery splash of color. It’s still too early to plant them for this season, so this card will do for now.

Supplies

Cardstock: Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110 lb.
Stamp: Light Touch by Penny Black
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Mowed Lawn.

Skeleton Lady

I’m loving the new Halloween stamps from Stampendous. While not a style that I would normally do, working with these stamps has been a fun “thinking outside the box” exercise.  More coloring with Distress Inks. Used Strathmore Mixed Media paper for the top layer. I use very little  water with Distress Inks because I like the darker wash of color so the paper tends to stay flat.

The inside of the card has a simple “Happy Halloween” sentiment, which is an image I created using PicMoney. The font is De Walpergen Pica.
