GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! I’m back today with another card featuring the Vital Rose digital stamp by Power Poppy. I’ve been playing with no-line coloring and thought that this would be a great image to use.
The Vital Rose image comes with a no line version where the usual black lines are considerably lighter. I lightened them further (because apparently I like a good challenge). I kept a reference copy of the image nearby to help.
There is a fabulous video by Cindy Lawrence in which she colors this same image in shades of blue. She started by determining the darkest areas of each petal across the entire rose. I couldn’t visualize that, so I started from the center of the rose and worked petal by petal. It took awhile to complete and was pretty painstaking, but the end result was worthwhile.

Once I was finished coloring the image, I stamped a sentiment from the Floribunda stamp set by Power Poppy in Versafine ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed the image using the Nordic Frame die set by The Greetery. I layered the image with a gingham paper from the Tiny Check 6×6 paper pack by My Favorite Things.

It’s important to remember that sometimes Copic coloring has an ugly stage. I’ve learned that I just have to keep going and work past it. After all, it’s only ink and paper. If it’s still ugly in the end, then I can just throw it away.
I won’t say that it was quick and easy, but I am pleased with the results.
