HEY FRIENDS! I’m back today with TWO cards using the Seasonal Sprig stamp set by Taylored Expressions. I’ve been thinking about slimline cards ever since I created a few slimline holiday cards for Scrapbook.com a few weeks ago so I thought I’d give it another try. And then to be even more adventurous, I created a similar card in the traditional A2 size. As always, I’ve linked the supplies below with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
FYI – Today’s cards feature Copic coloring, but I colored this image several months ago using Karin Brushmarker Pro markers for a watercolor effect. Check it out if you want to try something different!
CARD 1: Seasonal Spring Slimline
Features:
- Seasonal Sprig by Taylored Expressions
- Joyful Wishes by Penny Black
- Slim Ornate Banner Dies by Pinkfresh Studio

- Trim a piece of Hammermill 100# cardstock to 3.5″ x 8.5″ and stamp image using Hero Arts Intense Black ink.
- Trim image using the Slim Ornate Banner by Pinkfresh Studio.
- Color image with Copic markers (Copic marker list shown below). For the leaves, apply the darkest color (G28) at the base of each leaf and work from dark to light (YG67, YG17, YG03) blending from the base of the leaf to the tip. For the berries, I used different combinations of the red markers listed below so that there would be some variation amongst the different clusters. Just experiment – you don’t have to use all five red markers on each berry!
- Once the coloring is complete, stamp the sentiment from the Joyful Wishes stamp set by Penny Black using Versafine Clare ink in Nocturne. Immediate cover the ink with Ranger Embossing Powder in Clear and heat set the powder.
- Cut a piece of Wild Cherry cardstock by MFT Stamps to 3.5″ x 8.5″
- Cut a piece of Sour Apple cardstock by MFT Stamps to 3.25″ x 8.25″
- Cut a piece of Neenah Solar White #110 cardstock to 7″ x 8.5″ scored at 3.5″ to form the card base.
- Apply a piece of craft foam to the back of the image using a strong glue (I use Beacon’s 3-in-1 Craft Glue).
- Assemble layers as shown.
CARD 2: Seasonal Spring A2
Features:
- Seasonal Sprig by Taylored Expressions
- Joyful Wishes by Penny Black
- Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables by Lawn Fawn

- Trim a piece of Hammermill 100# cardstock to 3.5″ x 8.5″ and stamp image using Hero Arts Intense Black ink.
- Trim image layer using the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables by Lawn Fawn.
- Color image with Copic markers. See instructions in Card 1.
- Once the coloring is complete, stamp the sentiment from the Joyful Wishes stamp set by Penny Black using Versafine Clare ink in Nocturne. Immediate cover the ink with Ranger Embossing Powder in Clear and heat set the powder.
- Cut a piece of Wild Cherry cardstock by MFT Stamps to 4.25 x 5.5″
- Cut a piece of Sour Apple cardstock by MFT Stamps to 4″ x 5.25″
- Cut a piece of Neenah Solar White #110 cardstock to 4.25″ x 11″ scored at 5.5″ to form the card base.
- Apply a piece of craft foam to the back of the image using a strong glue (I use Beacon’s 3-in-1 Craft Glue).
- Assemble layers as shown.
I should note that the Seasonal Sprig stamp set includes a few simple sentiments that would also work beautifully (see earlier card project). But I wanted to use a larger sentiment, especially with the slimline card and the Joyful Wishes stamp set fit the space perfectly.
Hope you enjoyed today’s project! Until next time —
