HAPPY NEW YEAR! Monday was a snowy day here in Maryland so I spent it in my studio. I’ve not done much Copic coloring lately and I’m really getting out of practice. So I decided to make the first project of the new year one with a clean and simple design where I can just color and not worry about the card layout. I also decided to use a stamp set that has been in my stash for awhile — BB Cute Chemists by My Favorite Things. It’s time to stop buying stamps and start using the dozens of stamps that I’ve purchased over the past year that remain unused! As always, I’ve linked the supplies below with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
Today’s project features:
- BB Cute Chemists by My Favorite Things
- Copic coloring (marker list below)
- Additional supplies linked in thumbnails below.

To start, I stamped the image from the Cute Chemist stamp set with Hero Arts Intense Black ink on the lower left corner of a piece of Hammermill 110# paper cut to 4.25″ x 5.5″. Next, I colored the image with Copic markers (see list below). Then I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set on the lower right using Versafine ink in Onyx Black. Finally, I added a few silver metallic pearls from Pinkfresh Studio to mimic bubbles escaping from the beaker and test tube.
I feel a few more clean and simple cards in my future! Honestly, I can color quickly, but agonize for hours about the layout. Maybe it’s time to just keep it simple!
That’s all for today! See you again soon!
