HEY FRIENDS! First of all, thank you for all of the well wishes. I’m still not fully mobile, but getting a little better each day. Ten more weeks of non-weight bearing activity – sigh! But this week marked a couple of milestones — my first post-surgery manicure, my first post-surgery haircut, and the first day of school for a class that I co-teach at Johns Hopkins University which I attended via Zoom.
I’ve also started coloring a little each day. I still tire easily, but coloring is my therapy and I can only hang out in bed for so long before it gets both monotonous and depressing. So when Amy Kennedy asked if I wanted to participate in the new Anita Jeram release, I jumped at the opportunity to get in a little color therapy. Be sure you read to the end – we’ve got a blog hop and giveaways that you’ll want to get in on!
As always, I’ve linked supplies with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
Today’s Project

This release is a little different. We all know Anita Jeram for her adorable bunnies, mice and other critters, but this time she is taking us to new depths with mermaids and friends.
I selected the Seas the Day stamp set to create a little beach scene. I wish that I had been able to film the coloring because this was really outside of the box for me.
Landscapes are challenging, especially water and skies and this one features both. It took me a few tries just to get the beach the way I wanted it. But I just had to push through any trepedation for what might happen. Sometimes Copic coloring is just a hot mess until suddenly it all comes together and that’s what happened here.

Featured Products
- Anita Jeram Seas the Day by Colorado Craft Company [ CCC | SSS ]
- Stitches of Love by Penny Black [ SBC | SSS ]
- Copic marker coloring (see list below)
- Additional supplies listed in the thumbnails below
Once the coloring was finished, I kept the rest of it simple, using the Stitches of Love die to create a decorative edge and stamping the sentiment with Versafine ink. I also used a white gel pen to add a little more splash to my waves!
