HEY FRIENDS! Today I have THREE cards using the Layering Peppermints Stencil by Simon Says Stamp. Now that July is here, it’s time to start thinking about holiday cards, especially those that can be made in bulk. Stencils make quick and easy backgrounds for cards so I experimented with three different layouts using the same products.

Card 1

Details
- Cut card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# cardstock to 4.25″ x 11″ and score at 5.5″ for a top fold card.
- Cut a piece of Hammermill cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and mask the bottom 1.75″ using Mint Tape.
- Place the background for the Layering Peppermints Stencil on the top portion of the panel and ink blend using Distress Ink in Spun Sugar.
- Remove the background stencil and replace with the detail stencil. Ink blend using Distress Ink in Lumberjack Plaid.
- Trim panel to 4″ x 5.25″ or use the same size die in the Infinity Rectangle Die set to create a finished edge.
- Using the Merry Word Die, cut twice from white cardstock and once from black cardstock (I used Licorice Black cardstock by MFT Stamps).
- For the sentiment, I used the “Merry & Bright” stamp from the Printmaking Pines stamp set by Simon Says Stamp. I positioned the stamp in my Misti and placed a small piece of Mint Tape over the word “Merry.” I inked the stamp using Versafine Clair in Nocturne, removed the mask, and stamped the sentiment. This results in just the “& Bright” portion of the stamp appearing on the panel.
- Assemble the layers as shown.
