HEY FRIENDS! I have a confession: I’ve not had a lot of time or mojo lately for crafting. Looming holiday preparations, family caregiving and just stuff in general has been getting in the way. So I pulled out a favorite from my stash – Anita Jeram’s Flurries of Fun – and mixed it with some other old friends and new favorites for today’s project. As always, I’ve linked supplies with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

For the image layer, I cut a piece of Hammermill smooth cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and stamped the images from the Anita Jeram Flurries of Fun stamp set using Hero Arts Intense Black ink. I colored the images with Copic markers (see list below). I like a lot of contrast when I color snow, so you might be a bit surprised by the colors I picked. Here, we’re not coloring white, but the shadows in the snow so I like to push them a bit for contrast and interest. Once the coloring was finished, I trimmed the paper using one of the dies from the Spirited die set by Penny Black. This set is actually designed for slim line cards, but works just as well with a smaller card front.
For the background, I used one of the sheets from the Christmas Cheer 6×6 paper pad from MFT Stamps. Sadly, this paper pad has been retired but I’m sure you have similar paper in your stash that would work. I stamped a sentiment from the Wishes Snowflakes stamp set by Colorado Craft Company using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. Although this ink says that it’s suitable for alcohol markers, it’s always smeared for me when I’ve tested it. HOWEVER, I do like it for stamping sentiments and it produces a nice, crisp image.
Afterwards, I assembled the layers as shown. I did not add dimension to this card since I wanted to be able to send it with regular postage.
This is my week for taking family members to doctor appointments, winter vaccinations, and holiday gatherins so I’ll be spending a lot of time driving from one place to the next. Hope you have a less eventful week ahead of you!
