Today’s card has been brought to you by the letters “O” & “M.”
I started back to yoga class yesterday. The yoga studio is only three blocks from the house (a benefit of living in the city), but I’m definitely a fair-weather yogi. The thought of walking to the studio in bad weather (loosely defined as anything below 45 degrees) is enough to deter me, despite the short distance. So after a long winter and a long yoga break, it felt good to go back although my hips are reminding me today just how long it has been.

Good afternoon everyone! It’s a brisk 18 degrees here and the weatherman is calling for 5-8 inches of snow this evening. I can’t complain too much — my friends in Boston are digging out from under more than 5 feet of snow! I can’t even imagine! Our kitchen pipes froze this morning so my husband started his day under the sink with my hairdryer. I’ve been running extra heaters in the kitchen and letting the tap drip all day. One of these times, Old Man Winter and the plumber are going to win ….
I decided to brighten the day with this beautiful image from Aurora Wings. There are lots of digital images of fairies and sprites available, but this series of flower sprites really caught my attention. This is the lovely Poppy Sprite and her colorful blooms really brighten a gloomy, cold day.

See Allison Cope’s tutorial on the Power Poppy blog for instructions on how to cut the focal image.
