Jone Hallmark Daisy Fae by RubberMoon

MORNING EVERYONE! I’m back today with my project for the 100 Moons Creative Design team which is a creative collaboration between RubberMoon stamps, ArtFoamies, and 100 Proof Press. But first – some exciting news from the homefront!

I’ve not done much coloring lately because we’ve been preparing for a home renovation project. As many of you know, I live in a nineteenth century Baltimore rowhouse that I usually describe as having been built before the invention of closets. When my husband bought in the house twenty years ago, it had two small closets, both of which were narrower than the width of a hanger. You can imagine what it was like to hang clothes!

When we got married, we had to merge two households together which made the storage problem even worse. Luckily, we have a basement, but who wants to go to the basement every morning to get dressed? We removed the two existing closets and used wardrobes to store our belongings. The solution worked for a few years, but it was becoming obvious that we needed to do something else.

So we contracted with California Closets and had a designer take a look at the space. Last Thursday, they installed five cabinets — three clothes closets and two storage cabinets — in our second bedroom so that we now have a functional dressing room. After we put our clothes and other stuff away, we still had one completely empty cabinet. So I claimed it as my craft closet and I’ve been happily organizing it (and quickly filling it) with fun stuff! I can’t promise that it will always look this organize, but it’s great to finally have space that looks good and can be closed off from curious cats.

So back to today’s project which features:

(Wondering what I used for today’s project? Where possible, supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links may be used).

Step by Step for Jone Hallmark Daisy Fae

  • Cut card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# cardstock to 4.25″ x 11″ and score at 5.5″ for a top fold card.
  • Cut a piece of white card stock to 4″ x 5.25″
  • Cut a strip of white card stock to 1/4″ x 1.25″ for sentiment
  • Cut a piece of polka dot design paper to 1″ x 4″. I used a sheet from the Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots Pastels 6×6 pad from MFT that is now retired.
  • Cut a piece of diagonal stripe paper from the Black & White Stripes Paper Pad to 1/4″ x 4″
  • Create a die cut tag from coordinating solid card stock. For the paper, I used an MFT cardstock that has from my stash that has been retired. For the die, I used Sizzix’s Dotted Tag which has also been retired, but I linked below to Sizzix’s Stitched Border Tag which is similar.
  • Create a die cut circle from white card stock using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Circle Dies Stackables.
  • Cut a piece of craft foam to 3.75″ x 5″
  • Stamp Daisy Fae image on a Copic friendly paper with a Copic compatible ink.
  • Color image with Copic markers (marker colors shown below).
  • Add Wink of Stella to the wings and flower center. Set aside to dry.
  • Fussy cut image.
  • Stamp Wish sentiment on 1/4″ x 1.25″ strip. Trim edge to create fishtail. Apply foam squares to back. I used Taylored Expressions Foam Sticky Strips since they were precut to 1/8″ wide.
  • Apply foam adhesive squares to back of image and set aside.
  • Adhere craft foam to back of 4″ x 5.25″ white card stock with Beacon’s 3-in-1 craft adhesive.
  • Adhere design paper strips and die cuts to front as shown.
  • Position and adhere Daisy Fae image.
  • Position and adhere sentiment. You may have to trim the end to fit it behind the image.
  • Adhere card front to card base.
