Halloween 2022 Release – Colorado Craft Company

HEY FRIENDS! It’s here — the new Halloween 2022 Release by Colorado Craft Company. The release includes BRAND NEW, NEVER SEEN BEFORE illustrations by Anita Jeram as well as new stamps sets from the Lovely Legs and Big and Bold lines. Knowing my love for all things Anita Jeram, Adrienne and Amy sent me three of the new sets to play with.

So today I’m starting with the first of many cards that I’ll be showing over the next few days created from the new release. As always, I’ve linked supplies with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you. If you like my creations, please consider supporting me by using my links whenever you shop.

BUT FIRST, let’s get a little housekeeping out the way! To celebrate, there will be a blog hop and TWO giveaways so be sure you check out all the details below.

BLOG HOP: See the list of designers at the end of this post. Be sure you check out their projects and give them a little love!

GIVEAWAY 1: Colorado Craft Company is giving away a HUGE complete bundle to ONE lucky winner. To be entered, you have to use my affiliate links to buy their products. The winner will receive an email from Colorado Craft Company and the name will also be announced on their blog.

Today’s Project

To kick off the Halloween 2022 Release, I have a card featuring the Anita Jeram Scaredy Cat stamp set. If you like masking, then this is the card for you! If masking is not your thing, coordinating dies are also available.

To start, I cut a piece of Hammermill Smooth Cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and stamped the trick or treaters along the bottom using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I stamped the same images on a piece of Masking Magic, fussy cut the images, and applied the masks to the panel.

Next, I stamped the fence using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. Afterwards, I used medium sized moon from the Tim Holtz Moon Mask Stencil set and lightly traced the outline of the moon in pencil. Then I started coloring, use the Copic markers listed below:

  • Cat 1: BV20, BV23, BV25 (fur); R35, R56, R59 (coat); E01, E04 (collar & cuffs); YR04, YR09 (pumpkin)
  • Cat 2: BV20, BV23, BV25 (fur); V2, V25, V28 (hat); YR09 (pumpkin)
  • Cat 3: E13, E15, E19 (fur); YG03, YG17, G29 (cape)
  • Cat 4: C0, C1 (fur); V2, V25, V28 (coat); E01, E04 (collar & cuffs); YR09 (bag)
  • Sky: FB2, B28, B69, B79, BV08
  • Moon: Y21, YR23, Y26, B00
  • Pillars: W1, W3, W5, W7
  • Gate: T5, T7

For the moon, I lightly colored using Y21, leaving a small white border along the inside. For the moon details, I used the coordinating mask to color in the features using YR23 and Y26. Then I used B00 to color the white space, creating the glow around the moon.

I stamped the sentiment on the moon using Versafine ink, covered the ink with clear embossing powder, and heat set the powder.

Finally, I trimmed the panel to 4″ x 5.5″ and applied craft foam to the back using Beacon’s 3-in-1 Advanced Craft Glue. Craft foam is getting hard to find, so you could use foam tape if you prefer. I glued a piece of Licorice Cardstock to an A2 cardbase cut from Neenah Classic Crest and then adhered the image panel to the center as shown.

  1. Great card! I especially like the cat in the red. The way you positioned the cat, it looks like he’s peering into the darkness beyond the gate!

  2. I really like your first “Batty” card. Your coloring is great. Ian is blowing trees in my backyard now, so the sentiment is perfect.

  3. Yep- this is cats. They know they can go around but insist on you opening the door for them anyway.

  4. Love this card and the kitties! The colors are wonderful and the moon just makes it all pop! Why did you decide to emboss the sentiment?
