Inspired Edge – Grow

Showing off a new card featuring some of the new products now available from LDRS Creative:

Inspired Edge – Grow by TLC Inspired Crafting
Daisy Daisy 6×6 paper pack by Polkadoodles
Dotty Doily Die Set by Polkadoodles

I colored the image with Copic markers using Copic X-Press It Blending Card. I usually design A2 cards (4.25 in. x 5.5 in.) but for this one, I bumped up to A6 (4.5 in. x 6.25 in.). I backed the front of the card with a design paper sheet from the Daisy Daisy 6×6 paper pack by Polkadoodles. I love this paper – the designs are colorful and cheery.

I backed the image with a coordinating solid green cardstock and attached it to my card base with foam dots to give it some dimension. I used the Dotty Doily Die Set to cut a paper doily which I then cut down to size and tucked in behind the image. The result is a simple card that is quick and easy to put together and color.

Hope my card gives you some craft inspiration!

Time to Sparkle

I’m over on the LDRS Creative Inspiration blog today to share a project featuring one of the newly released All Dressed Up stamps called Time to Sparkle as well as the Basic Background Builders I die set from Creative Basics used to cut the gold and blue foil papers for the decorative scalloped edge.

In keeping with its name, I decided that I wanted to make the dress really sparkle and stand out. First, I colored the image with Copic markers on X-Press Blending Card (by Copic). I used Y23, Y15, Y17, Y19 to achieve the gold tone of the dress. But it’s hard to get much depth with the Copic yellows, so I first mapped out the valleys of each fold using BV01. Then I just did some straight blending from dark to light (Y19, Y17, Y15, Y23) to complete each fold.

Once the dress was complete, I added sparkle with layers of dots created with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen and a gold Uniball gel pen. I concentrated the dots in the valleys and then randomly distributed them across the rest of the fold.

Below are the supplies I’ve used for today’s project. Items marked with an asterisk (*) were provided by a store or the manufacturer for free or at a discount. All other items were personally purchased. Read more.

Spring Meadow Bouquet

I’m over on the Passionate Paper Creations and Friends blog today with my latest card featuring the Spring Meadow Bouquet digital stamp set from Power Poppy and a variety of dies and embossing folders from Creative Basics and LDRS Creative.

I’m slowly getting around to color Power Poppy images that were released before I became an Instant Gardener. Although it’s still January (barely), I’m looking forward to spring when I can start planning out my flower boxes. Yes – I’m a container gardener. We have a long narrow courtyard out back that we recently landscaped into an outdoor living space that we decorate with large containers of bright, beautiful flowers.

I’ve eyed this beautiful bouquet from Power Poppy for a long time. I love the delicate flowers and of course the bee! I decided to highlight a portion of it for my card.

This image is not as complicated as it looks – just do all of the same flower at the same time.
