Stanley the Beagle

Stanley
Stanley Martin

I live in a neighborhood where everyone (except us) seems to have dog. Or to be exact, a beagle. My neighbors Melissa and Tom have Stanley. He had a traumatic puppyhood that we don’t mention in his hearing, but he has it good now. A cushy bed. A loving family. Lots of toys. And a sizeable, fashionable wardrobe that changes with the season.

When I started coloring, Melisssa was one of my biggest supporters. We laugh at the same things (and at the same people). We have our own table at the neighborhood bar. And when I fell and broke my ankle a couple of months ago, she arrived on my doorstep with a bench and a waterproof cover for my cast so that I could take a shower safely.

Why am I telling you all of this? Well, I’ve been looking for the perfect image to make a card for Melissa and I think I finally found it with Duke by Mo’s Digital Pencil. The card base consists of Neenah Solar White with a layer of soft green patterned paper from the Hip Hip Hooray Collection by American Crafts. I added stamp from Altenew and a bumble bee emblishment from my stash by Jolees Boutique.

Afterall, who can resist a beagle puppy? Melissa certainly can’t so there’s a card waiting here just for her.

I’ve had this cute digital stamp by Mo’s Digital Pencil for quite awhile but just got around to coloring and putting it on a card. I love her images because they can stand on their own for a clean and simple layout. Paired with a Penny Black, Inc. sentiment and you have a quick and easy holiday card.

The Best Gifts Don’t Come Under the Tree

I knew as soon as I saw this image from Mo’s Digital Pencil that I would be making it into a Christmas card. Originally, I thought that it would have the usual Christmas gift theme — gifts under the tree, something special for you, etc. — but when I saw this sentiment from Penny Black, the two just seemed to go together.
