It’s September already and I’m way behind in getting Christmas cards ready for the coming season. I swore that I’d create a new Christmas card each week so that by the time the holidays arrived, I’ve have a sizable inventory already in hand. Needless to say, that didn’t happen.
So it’s time to get moving and I started by looking through my current inventory of holiday images and sentiments and supplemented it with a few that I’ve been wanting to color such as Boughs for the Wreath by Mo’s Digital Pencil. Although I used a lot of Copic markers, this image was fairly simple to color. I wanted to keep the style fairly relaxed so I didn’t do much shading with the folds of the clothing. Instead, I relied on the cool grays to add some shadowing to give the fabric some life.

The insides of my cards tend to be pretty simple, especially since I use 110# card stock for the base — multiple layers can make the card too bulky. But I decided to go ahead and repeat my design paper on the inside and eliminated the red border to reduce the bulk. I love this particular sentiment by Power Poppy from the Cozy Cupfuls stamp set.

I colored this image several days ago, but just got around to turning it into a card. It took me all day. I looked at hundreds of images on Pinterest to get ideas, rifled through dozens of sheets of scrapbook paper, and browsed every birthday stamp set that I owned. All day. Sometimes making a card is a process that can’t be rushed.
But in the end, I have to admit I’m happy with the end result.

Just a quick Father’s Day Card using this adorable digital stamp from Mo’s Digital Pencil. I follow Max Stephens on Instagram who draws and colors some absolutely stunning Disney Princess images. The detail that he adds to the gowns is nothing short of amazing. So I had some fun with the dress, using first a Copics Spica Pen in Clear to add a little glitter and then a white gel pen to add some texture. While it’s nothing more than polka dots, it does add a bit of fun to a simple dress.

A couple of weeks ago I stopped by The Queen’s Ink in Savage Mills to see what new things I absolutely couldn’t live without. And while I have an ample stash of paper, I couldn’t resist a pack of the new Perfectly Plaid Collection by Lawn Fawn. Lots of fun plaids that compliment rather than overpower a simple card image like Mo Manning’s Spit Happens. I found a pack of the 12×12 inch sheets, but it’s also available as a 6×6 pad.
