Baby Words by Paper Nest Dolls

Hey gang! I’m a guest designer this month over at The Paper Nest. The new releases this month includes this darling digital stamp called Baby Words. It features a soft bunny rabbit seat atop the word “Baby” surrounded by a bottle, pacifier, and a hobby horse. The image would make an adorable centerpiece for a card welcoming the new baby in your life.

Spit Happens (Redux)

A couple of weeks ago I stopped by The Queen’s Ink in Savage Mills to see what new things I absolutely couldn’t live without. And while I have an ample stash of paper, I couldn’t resist a pack of the new Perfectly Plaid Collection by Lawn Fawn. Lots of fun plaids that compliment rather than overpower a simple card image like Mo Manning’s Spit Happens. I found a pack of the 12×12 inch sheets, but it’s also available as a 6×6 pad.

New Baby

Rowhouse Greetings | New Baby | New Baby [Detail] by Mo's Digital PencilToday I’m featuring the New Baby digital stamp by Mo’s Digital Pencil. I love the character and the detail in Mo Manning’s drawings.

I struggled with the colors for this image because I wanted to capture the folds in the bassinet fabric but given them a soft, translucent quality. So I used pale blues and a soft yellow to try to capture those qualities. Hope you enjoy the end result!

Bunny Luv

While I like traditional baby colors and soft pastels, I really prefer non-traditional  color combinations, especially when the results are gender neutral so that I can have appropriate cards on hand whether it’s a boy or girl.

I decided to use Bunny Luv by House Mouse Designs depicting a mother’s love for her baby as the central image. I still had on hand enough of the Sealed with a Kiss patterned card stock by Doodlebug to add as an accent. I wanted to play off the hearts in the stamped image with the design of the card stock. And while brown and red are probably not traditional baby colors, I think this combination works and I’m pleased with the end result.

The inside sentiment is an image that I created in PicMonkey using the font Mirabella which I purchased from Creative Market.
