HEY FRIENDS! As many of you know, I fell on Christmas Day and broke my leg. I’m been restricted to non-weight bearing activity and have two more months to go. Because of the stairs, both inside and outside of the house, I’ve pretty much stayed upstairs where luckily we have a bedroom, my studio and a bathroom. So basic needs are met with the help of my husband who brings food on a regular basis. But I do get a little stir crazy since most of my outing have been medical appointments.
So last week, my husband took me on a day trip to northern Virginia where I had the opportunity to shop to my heart’s content at Goldenhill Papercrafts. He didn’t care how much I spent as long as it made me happy. So I stocked up on stamps and dies that I’ve had my eye on, including several from Penny Black.

HEY FRIENDS! I took a break from making holiday cards to color up a stamp set by Penny Black called Golden Dance. I’ve had my eye on this stamp for awhile because I love its simplicity. So I decided it was a sign when I found both the stamp AND its coordinating die while I was out shopping at Shady Lane Impressions in Pennsylvania. This is a fabulous family owned craft store located in Honeybrook, Pennsylvania. They really have a little bit of everything in stock so it was quite a shopping experience! I created an A2 top folding cardbase from Neenah Classic Crest cardstock and added a layer of design paper. I cut a piece of white cardstock using the second largest die in the Stitches of Love Rectangle die set and stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner using Versafine Clair ink in Nocturne. I applied foam adhesive squares to the back of the colored image and assembled the layers as shown.

The Fairy Godmother stamp set includes 12 stamps: 6 images and 6 sentiments. The largest stamp is 3.8 x 3.25 inches and the smallest stamp is 0.25 x 0.25 inches. The stamps can be used with the coordinating Fairy Godmother die set sold separately.
For this card, I stamped the image on Hammermill smooth cardstock with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I colored the image with Copic markers and then fussy cut it (coordinating dies are available). I cut another piece of Hammermill cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and die cut the pattern through the center using one of the dies in the Create a Slimline Border Die Set. I repeated the pattern approximately 1/4″ from the bottom and stamped the sentiment between the patterns using Versafine Clare ink in Nocturne.
