HEY FRIENDS! I’ve been away from the studio for a few weeks. I keep thinking that I’ll be more consistent with my crafting, but something always seems to take my attention in a different direction. So once again I have a stockpile of images to color and decided to pull out the Little Guy stamp set by Penny Black.

Today’s coloring video features the second image that I’ve colored from this set. Be sure you check out my earlier coloring video for the first image. I just love these little guys!

HEY FRIENDS! Here in Maryland, we are on our third or fourth faux spring, prompting every Cherry Blossom and Bradford Pear tree on the East Coast to bloom all at once. As a result, there is a heavy deposit of pollen over everything not moving. I’ve been practically bedridden this past week until my allergy meds finally kicked in today. So for now, I’m venturing no closer to nature than the images in my studio that I need to color. Here I’m featuring another image from the Garden Path release by Penny Black. This one is Perch (the other image in the set features a bird perched on a flower pot).

HEY FRIENDS! Just a quick note that I have one more coloring project featuring another image from the Garden Trio stamp set by Penny Black. Here I used a simple color scheme with a limited number of markers. These beautiful floral sprigs are quick and easy to color. They also come with coordinating dies which makes it simple to cut out the images for dimension on your cards. Plus I have another coloring video to inspire you!

HEY FRIENDS! I have a new coloring project for you today featuring one of the images from the new Garden Trio stamp set by Penny Black. This set includes three lovely floral sprigs as well as two sentiments stamps. I’m working one of the other images so I’ll have that for you shortly. For today, I have the first image colored in delicate shades of pink and yellow. I also have a Copic coloring video to show you exactly how I colored the image.

I stamped the image on X-Press It Blending Card using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. You’ll see from the video that I also underpainted the darker areas in blue to help push those areas back and give the petals some shape. Selecting shades of pink is always difficult with Copic markers since the markers tend to be too light to add dimension, too dark to color delicate petals, or too bright and florescent to look realistic for flowers. So I used a variation of a coloring combination by Amy Shulke to achieve pale petals that have a bit of shape. Amy is my go-to when I get stuck and her video on coloring pale pink flowers was my inspiration.

HEY FRIENDS! I’m back today with a new coloring project and new video featuring the Camping stamp set by Penny Black. I just loved this little girl and I’m finally getting around to coloring her.

As a child, my family often went camping together. I have faint memories of our initial camping adventure, which featured our family of five squeezed into a small tent. It didn’t take long for my mom to determine that camping with three kids in a tent was not her idea of fun, prompting my parents to purchase a pop-up camper shortly thereafter. We spent numerous summer weekends at the beach camping, and I cherish those trips as some of my happiest memories.

As you’ll see in the video below, I created the background using one of the stencils in the Background Basics Stencils set and then used a domed foam blender to blend in Distress Ink in Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean for the grass and sky. I used Distress Ink in order to color over some of the background to complete the grass. Do NOT use Distress Oxides for the background. The pigmented ink is not alcohol marker compatible and at minimum you could ruin the nibs on your markers.
