Enchantingly by Penny Black

HEY FRIENDS! I was beyond excited when Penny Black, Inc. invited me to color images from their new Cherish 2025 Collection. I even have an email from Jill Foster that I might have to frame and hang in my studio! I’ve followed Penny Black for years and loved so many of the images colored by the designers so now it’s truly a privilege to have the chance to color for a brand that I love.⁠⁠

Today I’m featuring the Enchantingly stamp set which includes a large floral bouquet, a single flower stem and a sentiment.

You might be confused by that B34 marker in the list when there is no obvious blue coloring in the image. I used it to underpaint the darkest areas. For example, I used B34 in the darkest area of the leaves and went over it and a little beyond with YG17. Then I finished the blend with YG03. Same for the petals — a little B34 to start in the darkest areas followed by R35, R32, and R30.

HEY FRIENDS! Had an hour or so in the studio this morning before I had to get on with the day. This stamp set has been sitting on my desk for quite awhile waiting to be noticed. So today was the day! HEY FRIENDS! Not much in the way of crafting over the weekend. Yesterday was my dad’s 97th birthday and we took him out to lunch. Afterwards, we went back to my parents’ house and a neighbor stopped in for birthday cake. Dad had a great time and we had another opportunity to make memories.

Today I’m back in the studio. Cardmaking is pretty much on the back burner, but I’m trying to color a different image most days. This time it was the Anita Jeram Veg Out! stamp set by Colorado Craft Company. I’ve got another video for you which is shown below.

HEY FRIENDS! I’m back today with a new project featuring an image from my extensive stash of Colorado Craft Company stamps. Today I colored an image from the Anita Jeram Peas Forgive Me stamp set. I love the guinea pig and the vegetables in this set, not to mention the puny sentiments. I’ve been more diligent about filming my coloring so I have a new video for you to help you with the image.

The image was stamped on Strathmore Series 500 Bristol Plate with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored with Copic markers (see video below). The image was trimmed with a die in the Postage Edge Rectangles die set. I followed the card design on the package of the Postage Edge Rectangles.

I selected a piece of design paper with colors that I could coordinate with the colored image. Your color scheme will vary depending upon what you have in your stash. I cut pieces of yellow and lime green cardstock with dies in the Postage Edge Rectangles set. I cut a piece of white cardstock using the Fluted Classic Rectangle die set. I assembled the layers as shown.
