Bring to Class

  • Waterbrush (filled with water)
  • Three ink blenders (such as Ranger Ink Blending Tools or Picket Fence Blending Brushes)
  • Distress Oxides in Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Blueprint Sketch (or you can substitute your favorite blending combination)
  • If you already have the following Distress Inks (regular, not oxide), please bring: Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers
  • Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard
  • Wink of Stella in Clear
  • Paper towels
  • Baby wipes  
  • Scissors
  • Foam Squares (such as Gina K. Designs Foam Squares or Scrapbook Adhesives 3-D Squares)
  • Tape runner
  • Liquid glue that dries clear (such as Connect Glue by Gina K. Designs or Ranger Multi Medium Matte)

Christmas Country Landscape

As it gets closer to Christmas, I start relying more on my collection of dies and sentiments to get a quick supply of cards put together to send out. I love the style and simplicity of the sentiments from the Paper Smooches Christmas Sampler stamp set and I’ve used them a lot this season. I bought the Country Landscape die from Memory Box awhile back and never got a chance to use it until now.

A little design paper and a simple sentiment stamped on the inside and you have a quick but elegant card.

Feeling Fall

PhebeAs a member of the Instant Gardener team for Power Poppy, I get to color all the new digital stamps that are released each month. But when I saw the new Feeling Fall clear stamp set, I knew that I had to have it. After all, why should the Bloom Brigade get all the fun!

To be honest, I loved it for the spooky black cat (here colored as a slightly menacing tudexo cat) because she reminded me of the grumpy face (shown here) of our own cat Phebe. While Phebe is normally a pretty sweet cat, she does have a way of communicating her displeasure when we run out of her favorite treats.

The background paper is from the Vintage Halloween 12×12 paper pad by Love Nicole that I found at A.C. Moore. I don’t usually add a lot of embellishments to my cards (although I recently admitted my addiction to enamel dots), but loved this spooky spider die from Memory Box and thought that it was the perfect enhancement to the paper. I cut him from Bazzill cardstock in black and added a little Glossy Accents to make his body shine.
