I’m back today with a card featuring the Dancing with Daffodils digital stamp by Power Poppy. Marcella has so many spring flower digital and clear stamps that sometimes it’s hard to choose, but this was one of my first purchases from Power Poppy and it remains a favorite.

Still playing with my new Laurel Burch stamps from Stampendous. They’re fun to color and are bright and cheery on a gloomy day. The hardest part (at least for me) is picking the colors and deciding where to place them. Since I used so many colors, I’ve added this color map to guide you.

The temperature has been swinging wildly this week. On Wednesday, it was nearly 70 degrees and I was able to sit outside without a jacket and eat my lunch on a park bench. By the time I got home from work, the temperature had dropped 20 degrees due to a cold front that blanketed the northeast with snow (but just rain for us, thank you very much!). Tomorrow the temperatures will be back in the 60s so clearly Mother Nature can’t decide which way she wants to go this winter.
But I know that I’m ready for spring flowers so I picked a variety of images from Power Poppy so that I could color Spring even if Mother Nature can’t make up her mind. This image is Flowering Branches, a veritable explosion of tree blossoms. Since I want to focus on the image and coloring, I decided to pare down to the absolute basics for these cards and stick with a single layer of card stock. Since I don’t want the Copic ink to bleed through to the inside of the card, I’m using a 120# white card stock available from Simon Says Stamp! for the card base.

I’m slowly getting around to color Power Poppy images that were released before I became an Instant Gardener. Although it’s still January (barely), I’m looking forward to spring when I can start planning out my flower boxes. Yes – I’m a container gardener. We have a long narrow courtyard out back that we recently landscaped into an outdoor living space that we decorate with large containers of bright, beautiful flowers.
I’ve eyed this beautiful bouquet from Power Poppy for a long time. I love the delicate flowers and of course the bee! I decided to highlight a portion of it for my card.

This image is not as complicated as it looks – just do all of the same flower at the same time.
