GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! It was a busy weekend for us. We spent Friday night at the emergency vet with one of our cats who suffered an eye injury. I’ll spare you the photo and gory details, but after 6 hours at the ER, Cutie Pie seems to be on the road to recovery (she has a follow up visit with her vet tomorrow). On Saturday, I went to the Stamp Scrap Art Tour, the first craft convention that I’ve gone to since 2019. I didn’t really need anything, but that didn’t stop me from buying some new stamps and other supplies. So yesterday, I cleaned off my desk and got organized so that I can play with some of my new goodies.
While I was straightening up, I came across stamps that I had forgotten were in my stash. I was far enough along in my clean up that I felt justified in stopping for a few minutes to craft. Never know what might turn up when you clean the craft room!

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! So I’m back today with something a little different for me. Yes – I’m still making holiday cards – afterall, it is Christmas in July — but I tried my hand at slimline holiday cards.
I was asked by Scrapbook.com to make a few cards featuring their exclusive papers, stamps, and other supplies. Their Christmas in July Sale is going on now with thousands of items up to 50% off! So it’s a great time to start planning your holiday cards and stock up on supplies.
I have three cards for you today featuring products that I received from Scrapbook.com (items marked with an asterick) as well as products that I purchased personally. As always, I’ve linked the supplies below with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
I cut a piece of white cardstock to 8.25″ x 3.25″ and set it aside until it was time to assemble the layers. On the far right side, I stamped two of the images from the Wordfetti – Holly Jolly stamp set in Cardinal Red Hybrid Ink using my Misti. Leaving the stamps in place, I stamped the images again using Versamark ink, covered the images with clear embossing powder, and heat set the images.
For the sentiment, I used the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Merry Sentiments stamp set. I just wanted the word “merry” so I cut the stamp so that I would just have the one word (gasp!). I lined it up using my Misti and inked it with Cardinal Red Hybrid Ink. Again, I stamped the image using Versamark ink, covered the image with clear embossing powder, and heat set it.
After the embossing paste was dry, I trimmed the stenciled panel to 3″ x 6.75″ and assembled the layers as shown using *1/4″ Double Sided Tape. For the sentiment, I used the Merry Christmas Sentiments Die Set to cut the word “Christmas” from a piece of red foil cardstock and adhered it to the front of the card.
For Card 2, I cut a piece of Neenah 110# cardstock to 8.5″ x 7″ scored at 3.5″ as the card base. I adhered a piece of gray cardstock from the *Smooth Cardstock Paper Pad – Slimline – Christmas to the card base using *1/4″ Double Sided Tape. I cut a piece of white cardstock to 8.25″ x 3.25″ and set it aside until it was time to assemble the layers.
Card 3 was actually the first card that I made. Since it was my first time creating a slimline card, I had to get used to the proportions and layout. Again, I cut a piece of Neenah 110# cardstock to 8.5″ x 7″ scored at 3.5″ as the card base and adhered a piece of dark green cardstock from the *Smooth Cardstock Paper Pad – Slimline – Christmas to the card base using *1/4″ Double Sided Tape.
I cut a piece of white cardstock to 8.25″ x 3.25″ and set it aside until it was time to assemble the layers. I selected a piece of green cardstock from the paper pad and trimmed it to 3″ x 8″ and secured it to my craft mat with repositionable tape. I centered the Vintage Floral Stencil and secured it to my craft mat with Mint Low Tack Tape. Then I used a blending brush to lightly stencil the pattern with *Pine Premium Hybrid Ink.
Since red and green are complementary colors, you can use green under red (and red under green) to deepen the color. That’s how I created two shades of red and two shades of green using only one ink pad in each color.
I apply clear embossing powder on die cuts to get a dimensional glossy finish. I find this much easier than using Glossy Accents or a similar products. And there’s no lengthy drying time which is an added benefit!
That all from me today! Hope you enjoyed today’s projects! A special thanks to Scrapbook.com for supplying some of the featured products!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! Well, for today’s project you should just assume that I’m still working my way through my stash of recent purchases. A couple of years ago, I went on an art retreat with my friend Kate Walters and she showed me the Village Edges die by Elizabeth Craft Designs. I love landscape scenes for holiday cards so this die found its way onto my wish list and finally into my stash. As always, I’ve linked the supplies below with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
I cut the village images from white cardstock using the Village Edges Die by Elizabeth Craft Design. I slid the die cuts back and forth a bit until I got the arrangement that I wanted and then trimmed the village scene to 4″ x 5.25″ to match the size of my snow scene. Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Believe stamp set by Penny Black on the lower left side of the front die cut which I then backed with craft foam to give dimension. Finally, I glued all of the layers into place and added the gold star cut from a scrap of Tim Holtz Idea-ology Kraft Stock and glued it into position.
Hope you enjoyed today’s project! See you again soon!

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! I haven’t posted in several days. The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind with appointments, birthdays, and a wedding. I have a bunch of new stuff in my stash just waiting for me to find time to create. I decided to pull out the Warmest Wishes stamp set by My Favorite Things. After all, Christmas in July is a thing, so no one should think I’m crazy for making winter cards! I’ve linked all supplies below with compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
I always find card design to be the hardest part. I can color quickly, but then stare at my craft mat for hours trying to figure out the layout, papers, inks, etc. So I decided to just color. If the image turned into a card, then that would be OK. And if not, that would be OK too. I’d just tuck the image away and turn it into a card later. However, this card design occurred to me in the middle of the night so I was up early putting it together before I could forget my idea!
Step by Step for Warmest Wishes
Cut a piece of Neenah 110# cardstock to 4.25″ x 11″ scored at 5.5″ for the cardbase.
Using Distress Oxides, ink blend the top 2/3s of the cardstock using Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, and Spun Sugar. The lightest color should fade into the color the cardstock so you may need to adjust your ink colors if you are using a different cardstock.
Allow ink to thoroughly dry.
Position the Snowfall Stencil over the inked cardstock. Using a foam blender, apply Versamark ink through the stencil, leaving space in the lower right corner to stamp the sentiment.

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! I’m not quite sure what to say about today’s card. It just sort of evolved! Stenciling, ink blending, Copic coloring – it’s all there paired with a sweet stamp from My Favorite Things. As many of you know, I love the Birdie Brown stamps from My Favorite things and was sad to hear that she is retiring. This stamp – Sunflower Sweetheart – is one of my favorites so I decided to pull it out and get to work!
For the images, I stamped the images on Hammermill cardstock with Nuvo Hybrid Ink in Shadow Black. I colored the images with Copic markers (see list below) and used the coordinating dies to cut out the images.
For the sentiment, I used the Sweet Hello Die-Namics from MFT Stamps to cut the hello sentiment twice from Neenah 110# cardstock. I colored one of the die cuts with Copic markers (BG01, BG02, BG07) to create a gradient. I glued the two die cuts together using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.
