Merriest Berries from Power Poppy!

Good golly Miss Molly! The Instant Gardeners are back with another digital stamp release from Power Poppy. And what a treat it is! Three berry-ful options await with this festive holiday set. A bubbling cluster of Holly and Mistletoe overflows with berries, all resting on a bed of ribbon. Whether you choose the bow, the dovetails, or the candy cane option, you are guaranteed to have a good time coloring this one up. Don’t worry about which berries belong to the Holly and which go with the Mistletoe, but rather, have fun using whichever tones float your holiday-happy heart! A “Merriest Wishes” sentiment is available as a complete whole, and as individual words, to add variety to your card making.

We also have a new member in the Instant Gardener team – Elizabeth Zaffarano – who you probably know from her fabulous cards on Instagram and her blog. Be sure to give her a big welcome. And while you’re at it, take a look at what the other Instant Gardeners have for you today and be sure to stop by the Power Poppy blog for some instant inspiration!

Scaredy Crab

Here’s a card that is a little out of the ordinary for me! The image – Scaredy Crab – is a digital stamp by Bloobel Stamps, a company known for off-beat, quirky images. I paired it with a sentiment from PaperArtsy (another company known for off-beat images) and the result is a fun card that was quick and easy to put together.

Be sure to stop by the Passionate Paper Creation and Friends Facebook group where Bloobel is our sponsor of the week. Check out the group banner for a special code to receive 10% off the entire store.

Monarchs and Milkweed

Power Poppy Monarchs and Milkweed Digital StampToday I’m featuring the new digital stamp set from Power Poppy called Monarchs and Milkweed. Based on an original watercolor and gouache painting created for a graduation ceremony, this scene of transformation follows the Monarch from caterpillar through chrysalis to butterfly. Milkweed (Asclepius) is the only plant on which a Monarch will lay eggs, and here we celebrate the phases of Milkweed as well, from seeds carried away by the wind, through buds and flowering, to the formation of new seed pods. Accompanied by a hand lettered quote with these wonderful Lauryn Hill lyrics: “Everything is everything; What is meant to be, will be; After winter must come Spring; Change, it comes eventually.” The image is larger format than most of the Power Poppy digis, 6″ across, and of course can be enlarged or reduced in a photo editing program. Lighter “no-line” format image also included.

Luminous Bouquet

I’m still playing catch up with all the new digital releases from Power Poppy this week. This is the last one that I needed to color (yes – needed!). Just look at all those beautiful flowers and leaves! To be honest, this image was a little overwhelming when I looked at it the first time because, well — LOOK AT ALL THOSE FLOWERS AND LEAVES! But I just took it one flower at a time, making one color decision at a time. I matched the colored image with a rainbow plaid from Lawn Fawn and a scalloped die from Tonic and by the end it all came together.

Old Fashioned Hollyhocks

Are you loving all the new Power Poppy digital stamp releases this week? I loved the new Old Fashioned Hollyhocks digital stamp set so I had to color it. I cropped the image and offset it to the left so that I could add a sentiment from the Hyacinth Bulb in Glass digital stamp set. I paired the image with a black and white striped paper from Echo Park Paper Company, resulting in a clean and simple card suitable for any occasion.

Paper: Neenah Solar White 110#; X-Press Blending Card by Copics; Journal Cards from the Summer Party Collection by Echo Park Paper Co.
