Power Poppy: Bubble and Fizz

Today is Marcella’s birthday so we are celebrating with three new digital releases from Power Poppy! This is one of the new releases – Bubble and Fizz – which was quick and easy to put together. The image features the Australian Golden Wattle (Acacia pycnantha) which as you’ll notice, I’ve colored up in shades of pale red, turning it into the red-flowered form of Acacia leprosa.

Be sure to visit the Power Poppy blog today and get some inspiration from the rest of the Power Poppy team!

Felt with the Heart

Everytime I go to a scrapbook store, I come home with more paper. Beautiful florals, petite polka dots, plaids — you name it and it’s probably in my stash. Some of it is so pretty that I almost hate to cut it. But the advantage of accumulating so much paper is that you have more opportunities for mixing and matching colors and patterns across different companies. Here I managed to match paper from Lawn Fawn, Echo Park Paper Company, and Core’dination and while I’m sad to use up some familiar papers, I now have room to spare for some new favorites.

Plant Kindness & Gather Love

Spring has sprung here at Rowhouse Greetings! The flower box outside my front window is already filled with red and white geraniums and this weekend we’ll start filling our container garden with more blossoms. My husband waters the garden every evening so my monthly water bill is going to hit new highs this summer, but it’s so worth it to have months of blooming goodness in the courtyard.

Marcella Hawley is always in a blooming frame of mind and this month’s digital release called Plant Kindness certains shows it. It’s filled with flower seed packs and heirloom plant listings, rosy-faced journals and calico garden gloves! Color up this cheery gardening vignette for a quick card and plant a little kindness along the way!

And while you’re at it, take a look at what my Power Poppy friends have put together. The Peep in Chief herself is joining us so sit back and enjoy some flowery inspiration.

Grasshopper Leap – What’s Up?

Just a fun, cheeky little card featuring an image from House Mouse Designs called Grasshopper Leap. I just love the grasshopper ricocheting off of Mudpie’s head! I paired it with this sweet design paper from the Saucy Collection by Authentique and a sentiment from Paper Smooches to create a fun card to brighten someone’s day.

Inspired Edge – Grow

Showing off a new card featuring some of the new products now available from LDRS Creative:

Inspired Edge – Grow by TLC Inspired Crafting
Daisy Daisy 6×6 paper pack by Polkadoodles
Dotty Doily Die Set by Polkadoodles

I colored the image with Copic markers using Copic X-Press It Blending Card. I usually design A2 cards (4.25 in. x 5.5 in.) but for this one, I bumped up to A6 (4.5 in. x 6.25 in.). I backed the front of the card with a design paper sheet from the Daisy Daisy 6×6 paper pack by Polkadoodles. I love this paper – the designs are colorful and cheery.

I backed the image with a coordinating solid green cardstock and attached it to my card base with foam dots to give it some dimension. I used the Dotty Doily Die Set to cut a paper doily which I then cut down to size and tucked in behind the image. The result is a simple card that is quick and easy to put together and color.

Hope my card gives you some craft inspiration!
