Flower Teddy by Penny Black

Last month, my mother celebrated her 91st birthday. She’s a leap year baby so she likes to remind me that she’s actually younger than me, but all the same 91 years is quite an accomplishment. She has always loved teddy bears, so when I saw the new teddy images from Penny Black I knew that this would be the image for her card.

You’d think that a card maker would have a card ready to go, but I’ve been so caught up in class preparations that I was pressed for time (literally making the card the day before her birthday)! Luckily I have some the Frilly Frames dies from Sunny Studios so the background came together quickly.

It doesn’t get much cuter than this! And yes, I did use my new Brother Scan N Cut to speed things along.

Spring Blossoms by Honey Bee Stamps

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! Just finished up another class at Photo Scraps featuring the Spring Blossoms stamps set by Honey Bee Stamps. This set of cards was a lot of fun to design and put together, adding a touch of spring to an all too cold winter.

As some of you know, I’m a frustrated watercolorist, so I’ve been trying to get a watercolor effect using my Copic markers. I blended my colors from light to dark using the side of the brush nib to sweep the color across the petals. I tried to leave some white on each petal to add a highlight and keep the flowers light and airy.

Hope you enjoy the cards!
